The Great Giveaway 2

We have more goodies up for grabs! Our clearing out of kitchen and dining ware continues, apologies for the long delay in getting these pictures up, I've managed to misplace the original photos so I've posted approximate pictures- please read the descriptions carefully before replying.

The first items are assorted bakeware and since we got a comment from the previous Giveaway post from Tan Yee Lin, these items only available if she does not make a claim for them within the week. Yee Lin, please send us your contact information if you are planning to collect these items. Everyone else, please feel free to submit your name for this and also, for those leaving comments, please note that these are only valid with contact information.

The available items are several racks, a deep muffin tray by Nordic ware, a silicon 7-inch square baking tin, some metal loaf tins and an 10-inch square baking tin and some old metal round baking tins. I would prefer for the whole set to be taken by one person.

When I open the full cupboards, I have to remind myself constantly not to buy any more knives and definitely no more stemware! Quite a lot of what is remaining is glassware where, unless otherwise stated, each set comes in 6 or 8.

Simple champagne glasses
These low champagne glasses are very classic and beautifully understated. They can be used for drink, or even containing mousse or layered desserts.

Pyramidal champagne, sherry glasses
These intricately-cut, pyramidal glasses are what is known as Edinburgh or Waterford crystal, which is characterised by the star-cut glass and is best used for champagne or sherry. For vintage lovers out there, these are really lovely finds.

Lead Crystal Wine and Champagne glasses
High quality wine glasses are often made of lead crystal, which allows for thinner rims and a higher index of refraction, thus changing the effect of light passing through them. Unlike the picture shown, these glasses have a classic smooth bowl with the crystal cuts only along the base of the bowl and a heavier stem with a gorgeous, discreet knob of tiny rosettes. There are in the style of Baccarat or Bohemia crystam and there two sets, one is tall champagne glasses and the other is wineglasses. The pictures I could find don't really do the glasses justice, they are far more elegant and gorgeous.

Long-stemmed wine glasses
Delicate and very striking, these burgundy glasses have an elongated, skinny stem that shows off the rounded bowl-shape of the wine glass. Classic and romantic.

Crystal ashtrays, 3 pieces
These are solid, elegant pieces, very Gossip Girl, New York late night steakhouse type accessories for your coffee or sidetable- they just don't make them like they used to. For the stylish smoker in your life or to be used as candy dishes. Two of the pieces are similar cut crystal and one is more of a moulded, round shape. They are about 6.5 inches in diameter.

Crate and Barrel mixed placemats, 12 pieces
The pictures featured are the Dorset and Lapis Grasscloth, of which there are four pieces in this mixed, multi-coloured set. There are two pieces each of deep red and green Thai silk with an Indian-inspired border pattern and another two pieces of Sunshine coloured Grasscloth. The last two pieces are an Japanese-inspired white and black woven pattern. This set is available only in the full 12 pieces, as it looks best on the table that way. Very festive and perfect with white crockery.

Personal hot pots, 10 pieces
Calling all steamboat enthusiasts, these are a really classy way of throwing a hot pot party- to give each person their own hot pot and their own choice of soup base. If you have a small kitchen, these can also be used to do simple thai or mongolian hot pots. Each pot comes with base and kerosene fuel tins. About 6.5 inches in diameter.

Ikea glass votives, 30 pieces
These glass votives are brand-new, they are perfect for tea lights or, in our kitchen, we've found that these can also be put to good use for panna cotta or chocolate mousse. About 2 inches in diameter.

Beige ceramic flower pots, 2 pieces
These ceramic pots can be used for flowers or plants, or doubled as vases for large floral arrangements. They are a light beige in colour and 50 cm in height. They are similar to those pictured but with more ribbed pattern in the center.
As always, please leave us comments or emails at weyzhan@gmail.com and receipients are responsible for picking up the items.

Would really appreciate the Lead Crystal Wine and Champagne glasses if they're still around, or if not, the long-stemmed wine glasses :) I'm wondering though.. with such pretty things, why not just build more cupboards?
